It was in Great Britain that gun manufacturers began to emerge. Air Arms is a company well known to the general public and has now introduced a bullpup-type rifle. Galahad is a compact PCP air rifle.
The stock of the rifle, finished with a rubber butt pad, can be chosen as you wish, as it is produced in three versions: beech, walnut and black beech. The overall length of this rifle is only 80 cm. The manufacturer has used a barrel from the German company Lothar Walther with a length of 395 mm. The sound of the air rifle is extremely quiet, thanks to the shroud surrounding the barrel. The shroud is finished with a thread suitable for attaching an external moderator.
The rifle includes a pressure regulator, which is also marked on the side of the gun with the letters SR. The advantages of the regulator are a higher shot count and consistent muzzle velocity. The maximum filling pressure is 200 bar. Once filled, the air in the cylinder will last for 110 shots. The air cylinder can be filled using a quickfill adapter. The filling port is hidden under a cap behind the pressure gauge; a similar system is used by Kalibrgun.
The rifle uses ten-shot magazines, just like the AA S510/S410 models. If you are a fan of shooting with bipods, you will certainly appreciate the UIT rail on the fore-end. A densely checkered grip ensures a secure hold. Every shooter will appreciate the integrated spirit level hidden in the rail. The mounting rail for the riflescope has a size of 11 mm.
The reloading of this rifle is also excellent. The system is comfortable and simple, so anyone can reload quickly without the slightest hesitation. The air rifle is reloaded at the front section. The manufacturer has used a rotating lever that only needs to be pushed downwards, which turns the magazine, cocks the hammer spring and seats the pellet in the barrel. A similar solution can be found on models from Walther and Feinwerkbau.
Practical experience: The rifle handles well thanks to the well-shaped stock. It is a shorter model and therefore suitable for carrying. The engineer who designed the reloading system deserves praise, as it is fast and smooth. The stock is perfectly finished with a solid, well-adjustable rubber butt pad. An advantage for many shooters may be the same magazine as on the S510/410 models.
