The German manufacturer Weihrauch started production already in 1899 and ranks among the absolute top in its field. Their air rifles are used for sporting disciplines such as Filed Target and others. With these spring-powered air rifles it is possible to achieve the same results at a distance of 50 metres as with much more expensive PCP models.
Weihrauch HW 97 is the key model of this manufacturer. The fixed barrel with underlever cocking guarantees long-lasting accuracy. After breaking the underlever, the chamber opens to load a pellet into the barrel. The safety is automatic, so it must be disengaged before each shot. It is located at the rear of the action. The stock is ambidextrous, therefore suitable for both right-handed and left-handed shooters. The wooden stock has decorative checkering on the grip and fore-end. At the end of the stock there is a rubber butt pad that absorbs recoil.
The top variant is supplied without open sights, so the air rifle must be fitted with a riflescope. For this there is an 11mm dovetail on the action.
The main advantage is the sport trigger Rekord, which can be adjusted exceptionally well.
Our experience: For us, definitely one of the best air rifles in the spring-powered category. The accuracy at 50 metres is astonishing.
