PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Sawyer SP128 Mini is a practical and lightweight travel filter in green. It is a very simple filtration system with a huge durability. In fact, the manufacturer guarantees it to filter up to 100,000 gallons of water. That's over 378,000 gallons on a metric system.
Included in the package of this water filter is a rubber tube for sucking water from the stream, a plastic water bag and a sprayer for cleaning the filter. The filter itself weighs only 65 g, so you can always have it handy. The filter has a covered mouthpiece on one side from which you can drink or fill water bottles. On the other side of the filter there is an inlet where you can attach both the rubber hose and the attached bottle, or any pet bottle with water.
After that, you only need to drink the water. Nothing complicated is hidden in the filter. The PointONE technology that the Sawyer water filter uses has an absolute pore size of 0.1 micron. This allows it to filter out 99.99999% of all harmful bacteria such as salmonella, cholera, E. coli. We recommend filtering only water without solid particles such as sand or mud. The filter would become unnecessarily clogged and you would have to clean it more often.
The only potential weakness is its sensitivity to frost. If the filter is wet and freezes, it can either crack or become damaged in some way. Then it is not recommended to use it anymore.
