Umarex began producing gas and signal guns in 1972, the highest quality guns on the market at the time. That guaranteed them a dream start. Later, they added air rifles. And when the two leading men at the company, Wulf-Heinz Pflaumer and Franz Wonisch, had the idea of making replica guns, they had no clue that it was a golden opportunity.
It all started with the first RECK PK 800 model. It is completely faithful to the original Walther PPK, which starred in 18 Bond films. Today, the brand has the right to use the licenses of world-famous manufacturers, so it makes perfect replicas of Walther, Colt, Browning, Reck, Smith & Wesson and BERETTA pistols and revolvers.
As for long air rifles, the company offers 4 models. The basic models are classic break-open rifles like the Hammerli 750 combo. The second type are spring-loaded airguns with a bottom-cocking action like the Hammerli 900 Combo. The third type are CO2 guns, which include the popular Airmagnum 850 model. And to round out the top four: PCP guns with a modern metal design.
Today, Umarex makes just about everything you can think of: airsoft guns, optics, tactical gloves and handcuffs, ammo and refills, and other gun accessories.
