Sawyer SP2129 Micro Squeeze is based on the popular Sawyer Mini and Sawyer Squeeze water filters. This model uses hollow microfibers with a max 0.1 micron pore size membrane. Its light weight (only 45 g) and its ability to be rolled up make it an ideal accessory for trips. It takes up almost no space in your backpack and you can rely on it in case of emergency. It can filter up to 378,000 litres of water.
Included in the package of this water filter is a rubber tube for sucking water from the stream, a 1-liter plastic water bag, a reducer for backwashing with a PET bottle, a spray bottle for cleaning the filter and a spare gasket. The filter has a covered mouthpiece on one side from which you can drink or fill water bottles. On the other side of the filter there is an inlet where you can attach both the rubber hose and the attached bottle, or any pet bottle with water.
After that, you only need to drink the water. The PointONE technology used by this filter filters out 99.99999% of all harmful bacteria such as salmonella, cholera, E. coli, etc. It does not filter chemicals and heavy metals - in this case, you must use Sawyer Foam Filter bottles with the filter.
It's only potential weakness is its sensitivity to frost. If the filter is wet and freezes, it can either crack or become damaged in any way. Then it is not recommended to use it anymore.
