PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Sawyer SP129 Squeeze is a universal filtration system with enormous service life – it is capable of filtering up to 3,000,000 litres of water. This model uses hollow microfibres whose walls form a membrane with a pore size of max. 0.1 micron. Its low weight (only 72 g) and the possibility of rolling it up make it an ideal accessory for trips. It takes up almost no space in your backpack and you can rely on it in an emergency.
The package of this water filter includes a rubber tube for drawing water from a stream, two collapsible water bottles with a capacity of 1 l, an Inline adapter for connecting to a hydration bladder, a syringe for cleaning the filter, and a mesh bag with a loop that you can use to hang the bottle. The filter has a covered mouthpiece on one side, which you can drink from or use to fill water bottles. On the other side of the filter there is an inlet opening where you can attach either the rubber hose, the supplied bottle, or any PET bottle with water.
Then you simply drink the water. The PointONE technology used by this filter removes 99.99999% of all harmful bacteria such as salmonella, cholera, E. coli, etc. It does not filter chemicals and heavy metals – in this case you have to use bottles Sawyer Foam Filter together with the filter.
Its only potential weakness is its sensitivity to frost. If the filter is damp and freezes, it may crack or otherwise get damaged. In that case we do not recommend using it any further.
