Vector Optics Tauron 6-24x50 HD MIL FFP is a modern high-magnification riflescope designed primarily for PRS shooting competitions. It combines variable 6–24× magnification with a 50 mm objective lens, allowing precise aiming even in low-light conditions.
Optical system
The riflescope features variable 6–24× magnification, covering shooting at medium to longer ranges. The 50 mm objective lens gathers ample light, keeping the image clear even in low-light conditions. The manufacturer has once again opted for the proven LaREE HD lens system with FMC (Fully-Multi Coated) anti-reflective coatings, ensuring a consistently bright and sharp image.
Reticle
This model features a VTA-3 MIL reticle designed for PRS (Precision Rifle Series) shooting competitions and positioned in the first focal plane (FFP), so the reticle subtensions remain accurate throughout the magnification range. This benefits shooters who use the reticle directly for range calculations or elevation and windage corrections. The reticle is graduated in MILRAD (MRAD) units, making it easier to match reticle readings to turret adjustments when applying corrections.
The centre of the reticle features red illumination with 6 brightness levels, powered by a single CR2032 battery (not included).
Adjustment and parallax
The riflescope features exposed turrets with 1/10 MIL adjustment increments. The turrets are equipped with Turret Lock (the turret must be lifted before turning) and Zero Stop (easy return to a preset zero) functions. Parallax is adjustable from 10 yards to infinity.
There is also dioptre adjustment with a range of +-2D, allowing shooters to adjust reticle focus to suit their eyesight without needing glasses or contact lenses.
Construction and durability
The riflescope body is made from a single piece of aluminium alloy 6061-T6 and features a larger 34mm tube. The matte finish reduces unwanted reflections and withstands normal mechanical wear during field use.
The interior is filled with nitrogen, which prevents the optics from fogging during rapid changes in temperature and humidity. The riflescope has an IP67 protection rating, making it resistant to rain and damp conditions.
This model can withstand 1000 G (a unit of gravitational acceleration), equivalent to the recoil of firearms in .300, .308 and .338 calibres.
