The Vector Optics Tauron 5-50x60 ED SFP riflescope offers variable magnification of 5–50x, a large 60 mm objective and Japanese ED glass with Fully Multi-Coated (FMC) lens treatment for high light transmission. The VCO-5 MIL reticle is in the second focal plane (SFP) with fine 0.05 MIL clicks, red illumination and a robust 34 mm tube made from 6061-T6 aluminium alloy with IP67 rating and 1000 G shock resistance.
Optical system
The riflescope works with variable magnification of 5–50x, which allows use from medium up to very long distances, and is equipped with a large 60 mm objective for maximum light gathering. The optical system uses Japanese ED glass in combination with lenses with Fully Multi-Coated treatment, which increase image contrast and sharpness and achieve up to 92% light transmission. This allows the riflescope to provide a bright and colour-accurate image even at higher magnifications. The 95 mm eye relief ensures comfortable aiming and a sufficient distance of the eye from the eyepiece.

Reticle
The riflescope uses the VCO-5 MIL reticle designed in milliradians (MIL / MRAD) and placed in the second focal plane (SFP), so its size remains the same across the whole magnification range. The centre features a floating illuminated 0.05 MIL dot, which makes precise aiming at small targets easier. The red reticle illumination offers 6 intensity levels with On/Off steps and is powered by a CR2032 battery (not included).

Mechanical features
The adjustment turrets operate in milliradians with a fine 0.05 MIL click, allowing for very precise zeroing and corrections. The elevation turret is equipped with a Zero Stop function – a mechanical stop for fast return of the elevation adjustment to a pre-set zero value, as well as a revolution indicator to keep track of the number of turns. Both turrets feature Turret Lock – the option to lock the turret to prevent unintentional changes of the settings during handling or transport. Parallax is smoothly adjustable in the range from 10 m to infinity, and the eyepiece offers dioptre adjustment from +2D to -3D.

Construction and durability
The body of the riflescope is made from a one-piece 34 mm tube of 6061-T6 aluminium alloy with a matte black finish. The interior is nitrogen purged to prevent internal lens fogging during temperature and humidity changes. The riflescope meets the waterproof IP67 rating, so it is protected against dust and temporary immersion in water. The 1000 G shock resistance means the construction is designed to withstand recoil equivalent to .300, .308 and .338 calibres, ensuring reliable performance even on powerful rifles.
