The Umarex Notos Kit was my first PCP device in many years. For getting “back into” the world of airguns it’s just perfect. It comes with everything you need and you really only need your tin of pellets and a manual hand pump to get started. It’s extremely quiet and lets you plink in the garden without attracting attention from the neighbours. The accuracy with .22 calibre JSB Hades is absolutely impressive and once the gun is sighted in, it’s just pure fun. There are countless upgrades you can 3D print yourself if you have a 3D printer. I immediately printed and built my own magazines, as well as a riser rail, because otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to mount my Pard LV008 LRF on the Notos since the top Picatinny rail would have gone straight into the magazine. With 3D printing that’s no problem at all. I also printed an M-Lok fore-end that fits perfectly over the air cylinder. All in all, a great complete package with only small quirks.

  • Inexpensive complete package for beginners but also for advanced users
  • Very efficient for the tiny 66cc tank
  • clean firing process with stable regulated performance
  • Excellent sound insulation performance!
  • Small tank, easy to handle with hand pump
  • usable riflescope
  • Very cool modern design and very compact
  • Very small charging handle
  • Bipod mounted on the upper plastic rail moves the optic!
  • After 21 shots it needs to be refilled
  • The trigger leaves a bit to be desired.
  • Original magazine tiny (7 rounds)
  • Third-party (DIY) magazines with higher capacity cause problems with some optics
  • Non-removable moderator / silencer

Overall, a good beginner rifle for this price

  • Compact and lightweight. Well-finished metal.
  • Many plastic parts. The power does not match the declared one! Only one magazine in the set, with a small capacity and a very poor mechanism. The cocking lever is not easy for a person with normal-sized fingers.

Rating for the 7.5 joule variant:

Top price performance
The rifle (pistol) has a super price/performance ratio!
After the shooting it can succeed – hung up on 10 meters,
with inexpensive ammunition which is also available here (Norma Golden Trophy FT Diabolos 4.5 mm),
To shoot 10-shot bolt circles the size of a 1-cent piece.
The rifle is very light, the tank is sufficient for approx. 80 – 90 shots, the scope is better than expected.
It has a rifled barrel, the volume is limited and the trigger is adjustable.
My conclusion: A lot of fun for 300 euros

  • appearance
  • accuracy is definitely less than Gamo Arrow, Gamo is easier to hold and cheaper even if you buy a rifle scope and bipod
  • the magazine is as if makeshift and in development...the screw loosens, the locking when charging does not work
