The Steambow ONYX crossbow breaks all established crossbow standards. At first glance, it impresses with its timeless design based on the tactical design of AR-15 rifles. It is the possibility of replacing compatible AR-15 parts (stock, pistol grip) that gives us tremendous possibilities for individual customization.
It is the first crossbow ever to boast PowerUnit pneumatic technology, which uses a 300bar cylinder of 0.25 litres or 1.1 litres for its propulsion. This technology allows the bowstring to be cocked at the touch of a red button. Everything works very quietly, so we can take the crossbow hunting with peace of mind. If we are forced to stop shooting, we press the button again to release the limbs and the bowstring. It is also possible to dispense with this technology, in which case we will have a classic reflex crossbow cocked by a manual cocking device.
The crossbow body is made of high quality aluminium alloys on modern CNC machines. All its surfaces are anodized and coated with a low light reflectivity coating.
The bolt, depending on the weight, reaches an initial velocity of up to 330 fps (100 m/s). The draw weight is 225 lbs (102 kg), so the crossbow can be classified as a model suitable for hunting at longer distances.
