New videos and reviews every day 6000+ reviews from our customers The German company Umarex, more specifically their division T4E (Training for Engagement), presents the second generation of the bestselling pistol for rubber and pepper projectiles called TP50 Gen2. It is clear that the manufacturer has listened to customer feedback and implemented welcome changes, while not unnecessarily altering anything that works flawlessly.
The most fundamental difference compared to the original version is the new valve for activating the 12 g CO2 cartridge. It has been modified so it can be easily loosened by hand without the need for an Allen key. It still performs its function flawlessly – in case of threat, you just need to lightly strike it with your palm, which pierces the neck of the cartridge and the weapon is ready to fire. A pistol prepared in this way can be carried for an unlimited time without the risk of degradation of the sealing rings. After activation, a so-called pressure indicator pops up above the grip, indicating that the pistol is under pressure.
Other minor changes include a non-slip grip texture and sights with fiber optic inserts that make aiming easier even in low-light conditions.
The bottom Picatinny rail for mounting a laser or flashlight and the convenient trigger-integrated safety remain unchanged.
As ammunition you can use any RAM balls, such as rubber, pepper or marking projectiles.
Since the weapon is powered by CO2 cartridges, the rubber seals may, over time, become brittle and crack due to the freezing carbon dioxide. You can prevent this by occasionally applying silicone oil 1) in spray form, simply spraying the internal mechanism, 2) applying a few drops of silicone oil to the neck of the inserted cartridge, or 3) using an oil cartridge (the simplest method). At the same time, we do not recommend leaving an activated cartridge in the weapon longer than necessary. If you know you will not be shooting for some time, release the pressure by loosening the valve.
