This RAM pistol is designed for recreational shooting, and with its appearance and performance it can deter potential attackers. It can therefore also be used for personal and property protection. Nobody will want to mess with a Glock.
The combination of a durable polymer frame and a slide made of solid aluminium alloy significantly reduces the overall weight of the gun. Nevertheless, it feels very solid and you can clearly feel it in your hand.
Power is provided by a 12 g CO2 cartridge inserted into the magazine. The magazine also holds the ammunition itself and accommodates eight projectiles. In this calibre you can also get paintball balls – the gun can then serve as a backup during games. According to the manufacturer, one cartridge has a capacity of 40 shots. The energy of the shots should not exceed 5 J and the muzzle velocity stays within 110 m/s.
The pistol features a trigger mechanism in single action mode. However, the trigger does not cock the firing mechanism, it only activates it – thanks to this design, the trigger pull is very light. Before the first shot, you need to pull the slide of the gun to the rear and then let it go forward – after that the automatic blowback system takes care of cocking the firing mechanism, cycling the pistol after each shot. After the first round, you just keep pulling the trigger as with a live firearm.
The trigger is protected against accidental discharge by a so‑called trigger safety – it has to be pulled together with the small lever in the centre. Otherwise, the gun will not be disengaged and will not fire.
The Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 T4E RAM pistol is an excellent replica that will reliably scare off potential aggressors, while also providing plenty of fun.
