Barnett Raptor PRO STR ranks among compound crossbows suitable for hunting. It’s no wonder that the American brand Barnett is a leader on the market. You can immediately see the difference between this brand and cheaper Chinese-made crossbows. The crossbow body is made of high‑quality durable polymer in a premium camo finish. On the fore-end and in the grip area you will find a non-slip surface, so the crossbow will not slip out of your hands even when they are sweaty. The comfort and quality of the weapon are further enhanced by the metal trigger and the CNC‑machined aluminium arrow rail.
With a draw weight of 187 lb it belongs among very powerful crossbows. The bolts leave the limbs at a speed of 400 fps, i.e. over 120 m/s. To outrun the bolt, you would have to reach a speed exceeding 440 km/h. The release of the bolts is provided by TriggerTech technology, which also minimises friction of the bolt in the crossbow. The bolt thus leaves the crossbow very quickly and flies straight to the target.
Safety is ensured by a clearly visible and easily accessible safety on both sides of the crossbow. A comfortable grip on the fore-end is protected by a finger guard. String dampeners ensure quiet shooting.
The high draw weight also means the string is more difficult to cock. The manufacturer took this into account and prepared the stock for a cocking crank. You will find the mounting holes directly under the cheekpiece, marked CCD – Crank Cocking Device. The crank already proved itself for cocking the powerful medieval war and hunting crossbows. Barnett, however, has refined its design and integrated it directly into the stock. The crank is not included.
The crossbow is equipped with a raised 22 mm Weaver rail, on which the manufacturer has already mounted an illuminated crossbow scope 4x32 with a fine reticle. In the front part of the body you will find three additional 22 mm rails for mounting accessories such as a bolt holder or a torch. The package includes, in addition to the crossbow scope and a holder for 3 bolts, also a manual rope cocking aid, string wax and two 22" carbon bolts.
